Ready for retirement
1–2 years out, or already there
- What happens to me if my spouse passes first?
- How do I take money out and which accounts do I use first?
- What changes about my taxes and my spending?
- How do I get my spouse retired too?

5–10 years from retirement
It’s on the horizon, and getting real
- What happens to me if my spouse passes first?
- How do I take money out and which accounts do I use first?
- What changes about my taxes and my spending?
- How do I get my spouse retired too?

Somewhere else entirely
Life doesn’t wait for the “right” stage
- New job, an inheritance, or a life change you didn’t expect?
- Managed your own finances fine, but this feels different?
- Not sure retirement planning applies to you yet but money feels unclear?

My Name is Katie
money nerd • coffee lover • curious soul
I’ve always been a little bit of a money nerd, the person who genuinely enjoys spreadsheets, tax law, and figuring out how all the financial puzzle pieces fit together. But after 15+ years working in finance and taxes, I’ve learned that good financial planning isn’t really about the numbers. It’s about helping people make decisions that let their money support the life they actually want.
Today, I specialize in helping people navigate the transition into retirement, turning decades of savings into a plan for spending, withdrawals, taxes, and all the “Wait…how does this work now?” questions that come with it.
My approach is practical, curious, and judgment-free. I’ll ask a lot of questions, probably have coffee nearby, and help you make sense of your money so you can feel confident about what comes next.

my approach
A few things I believe about retirement planning
Before we ever build a plan, this is the thinking underneath it.
1. You’re in the driver’s seat
We talk about what’s actually on your mind not an endless checklist of to-dos. You decide what matters; we help you think it through.
2. Practical beats theoretical
Real decisions: which account to draw from first, when to take Social Security, how to handle a market downturn. Not just theory.
3. There’s no one right way to retire
Retirement income isn’t one-size-fits-all. We look at your full picture savings, taxes, spending, family to figure out what’s actually best for you.
4. “Will I be ok?” is a fair question, every time
Big or small, if something’s keeping you up at night, it’s worth asking about. That’s what we’re here for.
